Hello family,
I’m so excited to share my newest song with you—RABONNI—released on April 20, 2025. This one is deeply personal to me. It’s not just a song; it’s a story. A journey. A quiet cry. A moment of discovery.
RABONNI is an Aramaic word from the Bible, meaning Master or Teacher. It’s the same word Mary Magdalene used when she recognised Jesus after His resurrection (John 20:16). That moment—so personal, so full of revelation—captured the heart of what I wanted to express: the experience of truly seeing Jesus again, even in unexpected moments.
The idea of writing a song titled RABONNI came during a quiet time of prayer with my husband. I heard him calling out, “Rabonni, help us.” And something in that moment stirred my spirit. Right after we said “Amen,” I turned to him and said, “I’m going to write a song called Rabonni.”
At first, I tried coming up with the lyrics and the melody myself, but it just didn’t feel right. I knew the word carried too much weight for me to rush it or force it. A few days later, in one of my personal prayer times, the Holy Spirit gave me the song. It flowed so naturally—I began to sing, record myself, and just let it pour out. The powerful chorus, the heartfelt verses… it all came together. Later, I structured it, refined it, and sent it to my producer for recording. The journey was so divine, so personal.
This song explores the journey of searching for God’s voice in the middle of life’s chaos—and finding that still, powerful presence in the quietest, most unexpected moments. Some people may hear it as a cry to a higher power, a mentor, a spiritual teacher. And they’re right. For me, RABONNI is all of those things. It’s a confession, a conversation, and a song of surrender.
“RABONNI is a heartfelt anthem of revelation and rebirth,” I often say, because that’s what it’s been for me.
I hope as you listen, you’re reminded that He sees you, calls you by name, and walks right beside you—even when you don’t realise it. He is near. And He still teaches. He still leads. He still loves.
Thank you, as always, for taking this journey with me. May this song bless you deeply.
